Blackberry Shrub
Our Blackberry Shrub is the ideal ingredient for berry lovers. Rich, earthy blackberry flavours are enhanced by the sweetness of the syrup and contrasted by the sharpness of the apple cider vinegar. Just the thing for making blackberry cocktails come to life all year round.
Historically shrubs were created as a byproduct from preserving fruit, steeping the fruit in vinegar for the off season, then sweetening the left-over liquid to create a syrup.
Modern shrubs are a great way to balance out drinks without the need for citrus. The astringent vinegar notes cut through the fruity syrup adding depth of flavour and making for a well-rounded cocktail.
Serving Suggestion: Keep it British by drizzling some on a Bramble, go tiki with a Rum Runner or stay old school and shake up a Wibble.
